About The Artist
Arieh Allweil, painter, born 1901, Galicia. Immigrated 1920. Published series of linoleum cuts of Israeli and Biblical subjects, also illustrated a Passover Haggada and large scale murals of the Holocaust. From 1952 until his death lived in Tel Aviv, and in Safed in summer. Died 1967, Safed.
