  • About The Artist Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 1969 he immigrated to Israel. Between 1983-1997 he worked in painting sets and designing accessories for the film industry in Israel. At the end of the 90-ies of the 20th century he studies painting with Israel Herschberg. In 2005 he established together with Aram Gershoni the “Hatahana” school for figurative drawing in Tel Aviv Yaffo. Nowadays he teaches in Bezalel and in the Sapir College. His works are to be found in both private and public collections.
Nipo is one of the outstanding realism artists of recent years in the Israeli Art. He finds his inspiration in different times and draws on the classic tradition of painting. Nipo’s paintings, most of which are executed in oil paint technique, focus on traditional subjects such as landscapes and still life. In works from the 2nd decade of the 21st century the tendency towards a symbolism of the image features prominently, an influence of the history of the Western art.
Nipo has exhibited solo in the Tel Aviv Museum (2014), the Ashdod Museum (2009) and in the Golconda Gallery (2001, 2004) as well as participating in various group exhibitions.
Nipo paints mainly in oils. His themes are traditional - landscape and still life, and his style is hyperrealist. Since 2010, his work has become increasingly symbolic, with references to Western art history.
